I currently own SG standards with '57 & 490/8 pickups - yes, I'd say the 490/8 set are slightly hotter, especially on the bridge, but you'll get far more variation out of your amps settings than you will out of swapping between these pickups. Here are a few opinions from me, not everyone will agree! But there are lots of great SGs out there. There is a small ding on the front and some wear around the edges but the gold hardware is excellent. It has been pro set up with 10's and the '57 Classic Pickups create the Gibson sound you would expect.For a 10 year old guitar it is in very good condition. This particular one in Satin White with Gold Hardware is a very nice looking guitar. Introduced in 2009 for 1 year this particular Les Paul created quite a stir with its all maple design.
